CITGO Petroleum Corporation
Headquartered in Houston.

CITGO Petroleum Corporation, a Delaware corporation with headquarters in Houston, refines, markets and transports gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, lubricants, refined waxes, petrochemicals, asphalt and other petroleum-based industrial products. CITGO has more than 4,000 employees and is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

CITGO owns and operates three highly complex crude oil refineries in Lake Charles, Louisiana, (425,000 barrels per-day [bpd]); Lemont, Illinois, (167,000 bpd); and Corpus Christi, Texas, (157,000-bpd); as well as two specialized asphalt refineries in Paulsboro, New Jersey, (84,000 bpd); and Savannah, Georgia, (28,000 bpd). Under normal circumstances, these refineries process approximately 400,000 bpd of Venezuelan crude. The combined aggregate crude oil refining capacity of 861,000 bpd positions CITGO as one of the largest refiners in the nation. The company owns and/or operates 53 petroleum product terminals, one of the largest networks in the country.

In 2006, CITGO sold nearly 12.4 billion gallons of gasoline. The company markets motor fuels to independent marketer customers who previously rated CITGO the top supplier in the nation for eight consecutive years. CITGO branded marketers sell motor fuels through more than 8,000 branded retail outlets.

CITGO markets jet fuel directly to airlines and produces a variety of agricultural, automotive and industrial lubricants, waxes and private label lubricants to independent distributors, mass marketers and industrial customers as well as other clients. In addition, the company sells petrochemicals and industrial products directly to various manufacturers and industrial companies throughout the United States. In 2006, CITGO sold a total of 25.1 billion gallons of petroleum products.

CITGO is committed to corporate citizenship because people is what the company is all about:

Help, hope and friendship for sufferers of neuromuscular disease: With $90 million raised since its first involvement in 1986, CITGO has become the largest corporate sponsor of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Heating Oil for the Poor: When the price of heating oil skyrocketed after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, CITGO was the only company that responded to a request from U.S. senators to provide energy assistance to low-income Americans. The CITGO-Venezuela Heating Oil Program was created in 2005 to provide deeply discounted heating oil to needy individuals and the organizations that serve them.

Disaster Relief—In the Wake of the Storms: There’s only one good thing about a crisis: it brings out the best in people. Like the people of CITGO, who generously supported survivors of the Southeast Asian Tsunami, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the Venezuelan floods. Our employees volunteered countless hours to help their neighbors in the Gulf Coast region affected by two devastating hurricanes. CITGO also pledged $5 million in support for Hurricane Katrina survivors and reconstruction efforts.
